Movie Review : Letters To God
Genre : Drama
Director : David Nixon
Cast : Robyn Lively, Tanner Maguire, Jeffrey S.S. Johnson, Michael Christoper Bolten, Bailee Madison
Dear God,
How many people are in heaven? Must be a lot. I know two. And I am only eight.I learnt new word today. Majellu…scullar. Or something. My mom said I’ll be sick for a while. And it’ll be okay. Why am I sick God? Medicine stinks. But I don’t have to take my spelling test this week.So that’s good. Can you see stars from heaven? My Dad said you made them all. I’m really glad to be home from the hospital. But most of all, I really just wish my mom would laugh. I miss that the most. (Taylor Doherty)
Seriously I wanna review some movies. You know, I spent my holiday before college with watching DVDs, a lot. I got it from DVD Rental, borrow my cousin’s but I felt so lazy to write it. BUT! After I watched this movie, I am excited to review it, cause I want all of you to watch this movie. It’s totally awesome I swear! (Subjective Alert!)
The movie is about Taylor Doherty (Tanner Maguire), 8 years old boy with Brain Cancer. Everyday, he writes letters to God. He talked to Him about what he felt, what he just did in daily. Basically Taylor was so strong knowing the fact that he was sick, because one thing. He did believe in God. But, her mother was the opposite. Her husband passed away, and then she had a son with cancer. She felt unfaith to God. Then, Taylor’s brother, Ben (Michael Christoper Bolten). Ben really love Taylor, but he had to cover the fact that he felt so sad because he got no attention from his mother. But surely, he can’t put forward his ego. Then, another character, Brady McDaniels (Jeffrey S.S. Johnson), the postman who always take Taylor’s letters-to-God and be forced to keep them. He was not a strong man actually. He felt lonely cause he was left by her wife and her son after he did criminal an went to jail. Then what is happen next? What happen to them? Of course I will not tell you. You have to watch it by yourself. You must!
Honestly, I usually feel touched every watch movies which tell about beliefs in God. In this one, my eyes shined in some scenes. Moreover, I cried ( not a terrible cry) when Maddy found and read Ben’s letter he wrote to God. Plus, the soundtrack in that scene, Everything Is Beautiful by Ann Marie. Complete! -___- believe me you should watch this movie.
Dear God,
I am writing this, only because my brother asked me to. I’ve lost everything. All the big stuff like my dad. And now my Ty being sick.. I mean all the normal stuff like going to concerts and having cook-outs. Cant Tyler just get better? I don’t think he deserve this. I know my mom loves me. But sometimes, she just doesn’t have a time. I think she wishes it was me sick and not Tyler. Who can blame her? (Benjamin Doherty)
